Position SummarySupervises the day to day operations of the home assigned to them and assures that individual plans, agency policies and procedures, and governing regulations are implemented and followed. Acts as the liaison with the County Board(s) and other agencies to ensure the service delivery to those on their caseload.
Essential Functions
Supervises Direct Support Professionals as assigned. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with agency policy and procedure and applicable laws and regulations. Responsibilities include: assisting in the interviewing and training of employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance of Direct Support Professionals; rewarding and disciplining staff; addressing and resolving complaints and problems. Shall ensure that competent levels of performance are met based upon the written job description.
Ensure all staffing coverage in the home to meet the needs of the individuals served, in accordance with their annual plans, and in a manner consistent with the purposes and objectives of Siffrin.
Coordinate with HR for the recruitment and retention of Direct Support Professionals.
Effectively manage the need for overtime in the home, reducing overtime cost for the home as long as the individuals needs are being met per the annual plan.
Performs all duties listed on the Direct Support Professional description as necessary.
Assure that daily, weekly, and monthly records are maintained accurately and efficiently. This includes, but is not limited to, census, payroll data, program and medication records, and staff schedules. May also include any other records as requested or required by funding sources.
Provide coordination of the Individual Plan of service to ensure community and family involvement and maximum individual empowerment within the normal course of life.
Review, update, or revise home procedures to maintain compliance with required standards, rules, regulations, laws, and codes.
Conduct ongoing program analysis to assist in determining their effectiveness and efficiency.
Maintain safe and sanitary conditions within the home at all times. This includes assuring that fire drills and emergency weather drills are scheduled and run per agency guidelines.
Responsible for individuals funds at the home, in accordance with agency procedures for accuracy and efficiency.
Lead staff meetings on a quarterly basis. Serve as the primary trainer for the home.
Complete additional duties as requested or assigned by the Regional Director.
Serve as Administrator on Call as assigned.
Assures that the home books are updated and maintained and that all required office items and forms are accessible.
Assist as needed/possible for persons served to maintain their benefit eligibility, not limited to SSI, SSA, Medicaid, VA, Medicare, and/or other qualifying benefits.
Follows Siffrins Code of Ethics in the fulfillment of duties.
Completes and maintains at least twenty hours of ongoing training per year. This includes all required agency training: Delegated Nursing, CPR/First Aid, PDT, Mandt, Fire and Emergency Weather Training, Annual Video, UI/MUI, and Individual Rights.
Physical and Environmental Requirements
Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds; weight may vary depending on the location.
Must be able to push wheelchairs, use Hoyer lifts, bend, twist, and pick up objects with body and hands.
Must be able to operate a vehicle in all weather conditions to take to grocery store, doctors appointments, and other community activities.
Qualifications
A High School Diploma or GED is required, with a Bachelors degree in a related field preferred. Equivalent work experience in the field of DD is considered. Two years of supervisory experience preferred.
Must exhibit knowledge of the concepts of empowerment and behavior management. Must become familiar with the standards as mandated by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) and the Ohio Department of Developmental Disabilities.
Must meet the agency policy with respect to a criminal background and motor vehicle record checks.
Schedule
Will work the assigned scheduled shifts as listed on the Home Staffing Pattern, combined with flexible administration time.
Interaction
The Home Manager position is the immediate supervisor to the Direct Support Professionals assigned to them.
The District Manager directly supervises the Home Manager position.
