The Warehouse/Shipping Lead provides leadership to a team of hourly warehouse employees and ensures the productivity & effectiveness of shipping schedules & other departmental objectives established by management. Assist in training and developing staff and recognize individual and team successes.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Team Lead and training new forklift drivers.
• Load and unload products as requested on/off truck trailers.
• Stores finished goods in designated spaces in warehouse or manufacturing area.
• Maintains efficient use of time.
• Provide ongoing leadership to plant warehouse hourly employees to ensure employee safety, quality and delivery performance.
• Provide creative leadership in improving operating efficiencies, such as find answers to difficult problems, reframe problems as opportunities, manage complexity, be proactive.
• Provide leadership and direction to the hourly employees on warehousing issues.
• Provide direction daily on shipping and receiving schedules, unscheduled down times and the efficient utilization of manpower.
• Review & verify that all product moving to/from the warehouse have the correct description, quantity, & lot number
• Responsible for tracking, tracing, & expediting pick labels & orders to ensure on time arrival.
• Directly supervise loaders during the loading process
• Lead team in a manner that supports a positive work environment for all team members. Lead problem-solving activities in this area as necessary. Develop, maintain, and deliver team member development and performance evaluations to provide personal growth and enhance team capabilities.
• Spot check labels for inventory accuracy, alert QC department for errors.
• Ensure timely actions on Customer Complaints & develop root cause analysis.
• Provides leadership in support of team quality in shipping, warehousing and receiving, and problem-solving issues while ensuring that customer expectations are met.
• Enforce plant rules, monitor attendance and provide corrective action (discipline) as necessary.
• Provides orientations and position training to new team members and conducts re-training as necessary.
• Responsible for supporting the warehouse flow of inbound and outbound shipments.
• Key participant in annual inventory process.
• Conducts follow up with carriers to ensure loads are OTIF.
• Maintain & assign department housekeeping duties.
• Review all safety guidelines, workplace safety policies & OSHA requirements with personnel.
• Must be able to deal with all levels of management & personnel throughout the plant.
• Completes paperwork and reporting daily.
• Creatively participate in continuous improvement activities.

Job Requirements

Education and Experience:

• 3-5 years in warehouse position, preferably with a background in manufacturing
• High school diploma

Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Progressive knowledge in warehouse operations
• Experience/working knowledge of SAP
• Experience in lean manufacturing techniques
• Proficient in computer navigation and Microsoft office

• Available for any shift.
• Able to lift 35 pounds.
• Work jobs that have repetitive motion.
• Implement and follow safe work practices and rules.
• Successfully pass a physician’s examination, drug screen, background check and E-verify screening.
• Wiling to have a baseline audio metric test
• Prefer high school graduate or GED
• Sufficient work experience to be successful on the job.
• Must have a valid state driver’s license.
• No history of convictions for speeding tickets or wreckless driving.
• Must be able pass a DOT drug test and physical exam.
