Job description
This position is for an Area Superintendent in support of the Groton Shipyard COLUMBIA Ship Management organization.
The Area Superintendent will be responsible for coordinating day-to-day activities of trade general foreman, foreman, and their hourly employees to effectively execute work assignments in support of COLUMBIA class construction.
The chosen candidate will be required to:
- Work as a team with first and second shift Area Superintendents to ensure safety, quality, schedule, cost, and continuous improvement goals of each assigned project are met.
- Demonstrate a strong technical background and problem solving skills.
- Interface with all levels of EB management, operations, vendors, consultants, and military personnel, while reporting directly to the Ship Manager.
- Have a strong working knowledge of 3G/7G databases and Team Center Artemis runs.
The individual is expected to support working extended hours and weekends.
Qualifications:
Required:
- Supervision/Leadership experience
- Minimum 3 years of related Program/Operations Management experience
Preferred:
- BS in a formal engineering discipline
- 10 years of Shipbuilding or Military experience
- Self Starter
- Ability to support day to day activities of trade foreman and their subordinates to effectively execute work assignments
