We are growing quickly and are looking to add a Production Manager at our lumber remanufacturing plant in Bryan, Texas.

Skills:

• Excellent communication skills
• Previous experience in lumber production/remanufacturing
• Forklift experience (Preferred but not required)
• Leadership skills
• Management experience is a must
• Excellent Microsoft Word, Excel, etc. skills
• Bilingual (preferred but not required)

Responsibilities:

• Ensure production crews are operating in a safe and productive manner
• Lead weekly safety meetings – topics provided by Plant Manager
• Monitor general cleanliness of production floor
• Train production crews on processes
• Direct the flow of raw material and finished goods to ensure maximum production is achieved
• Inspect finished goods for cutting accuracy and quality control – Review orders for completeness and return to Inventory Control Manager after cutting
• Monitor daily production data sheets for accuracy / completeness – turn in to Plant Manager at the end of each shift
• Perform reviews and counseling of production crews
• Assist saw operators with saw set-up, blade change and minor repairs
• Back-up Floor Lead and Production crews as needed
• Assist Plant Manager and Maintenance as needed

Expectations:

• Lead by example on safety, operating of equipment and overall cleanliness of the facility
• Quality Control Inspections – Product Specifications, Grade, Packaging, Stamp, etc.
• Proactively address any quality issues and saw performance
• Make recommendations in regards to saw teams and development / training needed
• Minimize production downtime – control material flow and develop productive production teams
• Actively explore opportunities to increase quality, saw productivity and reduce material handling – review with management
• Inspect production reports and ensure teams are accurately completing reports
• Track production orders to eliminate over cutting and shortages of finished goods

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $75,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year

• Bachelor's (Preferred)

• Manufacturing: 3 years (Required)
• Management: 3 years (Required)
• Lumber Manufacturing: 2 years (Preferred)
• Microsoft Office: 2 years (Preferred)

Language:

• English and Spanish (Preferred)
