Job Description:

EMA is seeking a mechanical engineer to join our team to support the manufacturing, design, and test programs in our Space and Aerospace lines of business. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing fixtures, mounts, equipment designs, and supporting simulation and consulting activities in these fields where appropriate.

Responsibilities:

· Work with senior staff to document existing or develop new equipment designs

· Physically manufacture parts, lay out circuits and enclosures, and perform measurements under the guidance of senior staff

· Design fixtures, mounts, and equipment designs with the support of subject matter experts

· Support simulation and consulting activities in the Space and Aerospace fields where appropriate

· Support test activities as needed

· Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure project success

Requirements:

· Industry experience or early to mid-career mechanical engineering major

· Proficiency in modern CAD design tools such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and similar tools

· Manufacturing and building skills – smaller scale parts

· Willingness to learn new digital tools – SpaceClaim, Discovery, perform simulations

· Familiarity with electrical concepts

· Strong problem-solving skills using experience or innovative approaches

· Willingness for intermittent travel and field-testing at customer sites

· Organized and thorough with documentation

· An interest in science and physics, particularly electromagnetic effects

· Strong written and oral skills

Experience with laboratory measurement equipment such as oscilloscopes are a plus.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $65,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
