Research and Development Technician
This position will be responsible for wide array of R&D technical tasks. The R&D Technician will operate the dyno for engine testing, perform drivetrain diagnostics, installations & initial fitment of new TSP products, and providing feedback and information for product & installation guides.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
- Meet with testing manager regularly for scheduled work updates
- Assist with new product development and legacy product support
- Complete engine component installs & repairs with high quality in a timely and safe manner
- Diagnose issues & report needs back to testing manager
- Operate Superflow dyno and perform engine dyno testing
- Gather high quality and repeatable data
- Assist TSP Sales Representatives with customer and installer support inquiries and requests
- Other special projects and duties as required/assigned by manager
- Track & Event support when needed
- Ensure cleanliness and maintain organization of shop and R&D facilities
Nonessential Functions:
- Document critical functions in support of formal work instruction creation
- Collaborate with team members from across the organization to develop, release, and market automotive performance products
- Assist with training junior & associate technicians advanced diagnostic and installation techniques
Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or its equivalent
- 5+ years of automotive technical experience
- Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills
- Advanced automotive knowledge
- Proficient at rowing gears with a manual transmission
Desired Qualifications:
- GM/Ford/Mopar motor vehicle enthusiast and experience
- Successful completion of an automotive technician education (ASE, UTI, UNOH, etc.)
- Vehicle diagnostics experience

Physical Demands:
- Physical Demands: Ability to lift and move at least 85 lbs., stand for long periods working, stand for long periods, and walk short distances
- Work Environment: Includes both an indoor office environment and a shop environment which may be significantly colder or warmer than a normal indoor office setting. There may be periods of loud noise from machinery. Exposure to extreme outdoor elements and sounds for company events and shows.
Performance Standards:
- Required to work a 40-hour work week and any additional over-time as needed
- Additional time & weekends may be required for company events and shows
- Annual performance review
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $21.50 per hour
